Carolyn & Drew – Surprise Proposal | Steamboat Springs CO

To kick off 2021 I had the privilege of shooting a surprise proposal up in the mountains of Colorado in Steamboat Springs. Drew contacted me about a month in advance and we got to work planning the perfect proposal to his then-girlfriend Carolyn. 

And she said YES! 

One thing that can be tricky with a winter proposal in a ski town in Colorado… is you NEVER know what the weather will be. When the day started I went to scout out the location and get things set up. During the set up it was blizzarding outside! A little scary considering a large part of the plan for the proposal was for them to go on a walk with their dog to the location. It is a little hard convincing someone to go on a walk during a blizzard. 

I scouted it out, sent Drew a few more last min texts and hoped for the best. When it came time for the actual proposal, it was like we could control the weather, the clouds passed, the snow slowed down and only had a few flurries in the air!
